Overview

Personal art archive · basketball culture · visual storytelling

Thy Art of KAI is my personal basketball art project dedicated to KAI, basketball culture, footwear, and visual storytelling. It is where I turn supporter energy into visual work, from posters and paintings to short-form videos, campaign-style edits, and behind-the-scenes storytelling.

The project sits between personal archive and creative portfolio. I use it to explore how basketball moments, footwear design, music, film language, and visual culture can become emotional sports storytelling.

This is not an official brand page. It is a personal creative project built out of respect, support, and long-term connection to the game and the culture around it.

What I Create

Artwork, video, painting, and creative direction

Graphics / Poster Design

Created visual posts, return posters, quote-based graphics, KAI shoe visuals, and basketball culture artwork for Instagram.

Video Production

Directed, shot, edited, and produced short-form videos, shoe-ad style clips, behind-the-scenes edits, and storytelling reels.

Painting

Created physical painting work, including a KAI logo abstract painting developed collaboratively with Steve Tsai.

Creative Direction

Built visual concepts around basketball, footwear, music, film references, and supporter-driven storytelling.

Behind the Scenes

Documented process moments, physical effort, production setbacks, shooting days, and the work behind finished pieces.

Community Interaction

Created giveaway visuals, community-facing posts, and content that connects with KAI supporters across Taiwan and the U.S.

Featured Work: KAI 2 “Artist on Court”

Concept · production · painting · video storytelling

KAI 2 “Artist on Court” is the project that best represents Thy Art of KAI so far. The piece took roughly three months of planning, shooting, editing, and iteration.

Aside from the painting itself, which I created together with Steve Tsai, and the basketball model work performed by my friend and trainer Zack, I handled the concept, planning, directing, shooting, editing, visual direction, and final storytelling of the video.

The process was physically demanding. The production included long outdoor shooting days, sunburn, cuts, behind-the-scenes setbacks, and even a hand fracture during the broader creation period. That difficulty became part of why the final piece means so much to me.

Creative Identity

Product storytelling · brand storytelling · sports culture art

Thy Art of KAI represents how I connect art, basketball, footwear, and product storytelling. The project is not only about making visuals around a player. It is about translating motion, belief, product details, music, and basketball emotion into visual language.

The project has also connected me to real basketball moments beyond the screen, including in-person moments around KAI, his family, and the wider KAI / ANTA basketball community. I keep that part understated because the main focus remains the work itself.
